Review| Why You Need To Watch Lucifer (TV Series)

Before you brush this post probably because you don’t know what I’m talking about, please hear me out!

Lucifer is a TV show on Fox that I came to know about from a local entertainment store owner. He recommends me the latest shows and movies – keeps me updated when I’m home.

I have binge watched this show several times that I can actually recite most of the lines from various episodes. It’s such a good comedy and it doesn’t matter how many times I watch it I always laugh my heart out at the sarcastic comments made by Mr. Lucifer Morningstar himself.

Series Description

Basically, the series follows Lucifer, the original fallen angel, who has become dissatisfied with his life in hell. After abandoning his throne and retiring to Los Angeles, Lucifer indulges in his favourite things (women, wine and song) — until a murder takes place outside of his upscale nightclub.

For the first time in billions of years, the murder awakens something unfamiliar in Lucifer’s soul that is eerily similar to compassion and sympathy. Lucifer is faced with another surprise when he meets an intriguing homicide detective named Chloe, who appears to possess an inherent goodness — unlike the worst of humanity, to which he is accustomed. Suddenly, Lucifer starts to wonder if there is hope for his soul.

Why You Should Watch Lucifer

Lucifer is irresistible and has the supernatural ability to compel people to voice their innermost desires.

Each episode deals with a different crime or mystery thus making it more of a police procedural than a supernatural series. Don’t we all like investigative murder solutions?

The cast is amazing. Each one of the fully portrays their character in a unique and intriguing angle. Side Note: Lucifer played by Tom Ellis is hot

The female characters are impressive and badass. From the Devil’s detective sidekick Chloe Decker, to his mischievous demon assistant Maze, they’re more than capable of looking after themselves. And let’s not forget Dr. Linda Martin, Lucifer’s patient psychotherapists, who earns her place as Lucifer’s friend as the seasons progress.

My Not So Favourite Plot

I love everything else except when in Season 2 “Lucifer’s mother” is introduced. I find it so cringe-worth. I’m not comfortable with the whole Goddess idea (but that’s just me). That’s the only setback for me in this series.
