I know how hard it is especially when you are going through a rough patch in life but believe it or not self care is essential for personal growth and our sanity. We should take the initiative to give ourselves some love by practicing self care tips.
Now, before you think I am this “perfect, self compassionate, got everything figured out human” … Pause. Go to my home page and scroll through my previous blog posts. See!? I am a huge mess but still acknowledge self compassion takes nurturing and patience and I am worth it and so are you.
Feel free to borrow a few basic tips from here as you start your journey of self care:-
1. Go on a walk to a new place. This simply helps clear your mind while bonding with yourself both important aspects in your growth.
2. Listen to your favorite music. There’s just something soothing about listening to music, create a playlist and listen to it over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
3. Read a book – your favorite or a new one that’s on your list. Fantasy is my favorite genre, each month I write a list of books (utmost five books) that I intend to make an effort to reading. It’s just calming sitting on your favorite spot unfolding the mystery of your imaginative world.
4. Watch a funny movie or your favorite comedian. My close peeps know that I’m obsessed with episodes of Key and Peele or just watching Trevor Noah so to transport myself to a happy play i binge watch these shows.
