FODREAMY1on1: 3 THINGS ON MY MIND

Well, Hello Earthlings!

Welcome to my space, I don’t think I’ve ever made a formal introduction of this series maybe I did when I first started out but that was a long time ago.

Basically, Fodreamy1on1 (Fodreamy one on one) is a series that I created to talk about my naked truths and raw feelings – that’s the best way I can sum it up. In today’s edition I talk about the things that are currently on my mind.  Why don’t we just get into it, hm!

  1. Anxiety and Stress

In case you didn’t catch the vibe in my previous blog post, my stress levels have been hiking up thus affecting my anxiety. I really think most of us underestimate what stress and anxiety do to us. We tend to brush it off and think it’s not that deep but it actually is. I have struggled with anxiety and stress especially when I was a teen but it hit me hard again two to three years ago.

The reason it’s on my mind is because I have been feeling this wave that makes me want to shut away from people and avoid things that bring me joy.  I’m just glad I’m aware of what is happening with me this time round, from my experience it’s important to address;- stress, anxiety and mental health in general cause if you don’t, if you keep pushing it at the back of your mind, one day – sooner or later it will project and you might have a meltdown or loose yourself. I’m learning the importance of asking for help, have that one person you can reach out to and talk about how you are feeling.

  1. Blogging

The second thing on my mind is in relation to content creating, blogging to be specific. The space I’m in at the moment – I mentioned this in the beginning of the year – I want to grow in my writing, create content that is engaging and can spike a conversation and that means being consistent something that I struggle with in every aspect of my life. Why blogging is on my mind is because of the discussion that arose on twitter after Instagram went down. I rarely use Instagram so I didn’t notice till the next day when I was on twitter following up the discussions I couldn’t help but think how terrible it might have been for bloggers who use Instagram as their main platform for content creation.

Nowadays, I personally struggle with social media in general. I just can’t stay on, I could go for three days without peeping on any media. Unfortunately that’s not good when it comes to promoting content, with the Instagram fiasco we all need to learn to be diverse, not sticking solely to just one outlet.

  1. Entrepreneurship

If you don’t already know this then be prepared for a mind blow… Entrepreneurship is HARD! Harder than an eight to five job unless I’m not doing it right.

Entrepreneurship is currently on my mind because sometime last year I start selling jewellery and I was looking forward to expanding this year get more stock and be a partial entrepreneur but mehn! As easy as that sounds it’s really eating me up.

When you get a business idea, its exciting and people always encourage you to go for it cause being “self-employed is better” but no one really tells you about the logistics that go into investment, marketing, licensing your business, attracting customers – the reality isn’t as simple as people make it seem and right now, I wouldn’t quit my day job to be a full-time entrepreneur – and maybe that’s the problem, I can’t fully commit AND THAT’S OKAY, I hope!

Over to You …

What do you think? I’d really like to know what three things are on your mind and why?

Thank you for reading.

With Love, Jade Jums.
