Entertainment, Music

Hey Earthlings, how are you doing?

I’m writing this post while lounging in my room in my faded oversize t-shirt, listening to 4 by Queen Bee and winding down after a hectic and fulfilling day! I’d like to confess the fact that I am a walking cliché of a millennial. I LOVE listening to music!

Apart from the latest stuff, what other music do you like to listen to?

I don’t like when people ask me questions like this, I have such an eclectic taste in music. I listen to all sorts really, I like what I like. If a song appeals to me, I just like it. Whether its pop, dance-hall, rock — I pretty much listen to anything.

With that said, here are some albums that I still binge – listen to all the time. I’d like you to try them out and let me know what you think:-

… But Seriously by Phil Collins

My dad used to have this cassette when I was young and I remember playing it almost everyday trying to learn the words to all the songs. I now have the album on my laptop and I still listen to it most evenings; the only difference now is I know the words to the songs and I still enjoy them.

Beyoncé by Beyoncé

She released this album when I was at the peak of “Can you please adopt me Beyoncé’ ?” that’s why it’s special! I still listen to this album and I adore it to the core.

Cry Baby by Melanie Martinez

This album speaks to my heart and other than the fact I simply love sad music, this album is my lullaby during my low days. The lyrics seem deep yet the mood is light. All the best people are crazy, right?!

Souled Out by Jhené Aiko

I don’t get why Jhené Aiko’s music is underrated, she makes amazing soulful music. I’ve listened to sail out and souled out so many times that I have to re-shuffle just for the element of surprise ’cause you know I know the track-list by heart (wake me up in the middle of the night and I’ll recite it to you – that’s after I slap you for waking me up by the way! )

Midnight Memories by One Direction

As I wait for the hiatus to come to an end, I binge listen to this album. I just love One Direction and this album is a happy place for me in a way; only One Direction core fans will understand!

Over To You …

Let me know some overrated or underrated albums you enjoy listening to frequently.

Thank you for reading. New post every Tuesday and Friday.

With Love, Jade J
